It is not surprise that one of the most famous villas on Lake Como is Villa del Balbianello, a magnificent 18th century residence located in Tremezzina, surrounded by majestic gardens.
Villa del Balbianello is easily recognizable thanks to its strategic position on the tip of the Lavedo peninsula. One of the most beautiful spaces in the garden is the enchanting eighteenth-century Durini loggia with three arches, from which you can admire the breathtaking panorama of the lake. With its various structures it extends over six floors: in addition to the Villa there are also the Loggia, the Casa del Custode, the Ghiacciaia, the Casa Bosco, the Serra and the extensive park-garden.
Villa del Balbianello has been the location of several films, it was in fact chosen as a set for 007 Casino Royale and for Star Wars Episode II. Villa Balbianello can be reach only by boat.
